Apprenticeship Week 2024 at NTW Solutions

5-11th February 2024 It's National Apprenticeship Week

NTW Solutions has always had a wide range of apprenticeships and lots of those apprentices have continued to work with us in permanent roles after their training had finished. We also support people to complete in-work apprenticeships to develop their skills and support their progression. We have a number of apprentices with us now in a wide range of roles doing great work to support better care. Our current company board chair began as an apprentice in the 1970s which shows that an apprenticeship can be a route to the top.

This week is National Apprenticeship Week and we are celebrating all of the fantastic apprentices we have had working with us. We take on apprentices in a range of roles across the company from hands on roles in areas such as the estates to areas such as finance. Wherever we can we make sure we provide permanent opportunities for those who have completed their apprenticeship and some of our former apprentices are now core members of our teams.

Apprenticeships are a great way to learn skills while you earn some money and are a great opportunity to start your career, to change into a new or different career, or to upskill in your current career. Our apprentices gain first hand experience of the world of work as studying with a college or training provider at the same time giving people a really rounded experience in your training.

Meet Malcolm Aiston, our current board chair

Malcolm has dedicated his career to the NHS after starting as an apprentice in 1978. As a Chartered Engineer he has been leading facilities and estates services for many years. He led the establishment of the company and the transfer of services and was Managing Director since the company was formed until 2022 and is now our company board chair. He has championed the role of apprentices and is passionate about working for greater equality.
