About Us
Our Digital Service keeps technology, systems and data running smoothly and it’s central to our core mission of supporting better care.
We look after day‑to‑day IT support, the security and reliability of our networks and systems, the development of new digital tools, and the data and reporting that inform good decisions.
The service is recognised as a high performing team and is an NHS Global Digital Exemplar accredited service, reflecting our strong digital foundations and continuous improvement.

Digital Customer Services
Your first point of contact for all things digital. We help colleagues resolve issues quickly, get set up on systems and make the most of the tools available. Clear guidance, how‑to resources, and a friendly service desk help support teams.
Infrastructure and cyber security
We manage and protect the core technology that everything else depends on including networks and Wi‑Fi, clinical and corporate systems such as RiO and telephony, access to cloud services, remote access, and the platforms that keep information flowing. Critical infrastructure has round‑the‑clock operational cover, and we apply proportionate cyber security controls to keep services safe while minimising impact on users.
Systems development
Where off‑the‑shelf tools don’t fit, we design and build solutions that do. The team develops and maintains clinical and corporate applications, automates routine tasks and integrates systems so information moves cleanly between them. We’ve built well over a hundred in‑house systems to save time and improve care and support.
Data and reporting
We bring together data from multiple internal and external sources into secure repositories. We maintain data feeds and automate monitoring and processing tasks. This makes data available and accessible for reporting and analysis. The team also carries out technical build work within Rio such as letters, active alerts and workflow.
