The Facilities Team plays a big part in keeping our sites running smoothly and making sure patients, staff, and visitors have a safe, tidy, and welcoming environment. The team looks after a wide mix of services including domestic cleaning, portering, catering, cafés, laundry and linen, waste management, reception and switchboard duties, security, car parking, and transport. Their work supports day‑to‑day life across all of our hospitals and community sites, and they help clinical teams by making sure essential tasks are carried out reliably in the background.

Cleaning teams keep wards, offices and public spaces spotless, following set standards so everyone can enjoy a clean and comfortable environment. Porters help move people, goods, and equipment around our sites and are often the friendly faces that patients and staff meet every day. Our catering and café teams prepare meals for patients and serve food and drinks to staff and visitors across our sites.

Behind the scenes, Facilities also manage laundry and linen, look after waste and recycling, support reception and switchboard services, and oversee security and parking arrangements. It’s a varied service, but the aim is always the same – to provide high‑quality, reliable support that helps the whole organisation run well.
