Tracey Sopp, Managing Director of NTW Solutions joined our Property Team at their base at Monkwearmouth Hospital to see the work of the team for herself.

Their job is wide ranging but at the heart of it they are there to make sure that all of our buildings are used efficiently and that teams have the space they need to carry out their work.

They manage space allocation within all Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW) buildings and manage leased properties for the Trust too. This means they are responsible for all office and ward moves.

The team manages our PFI contracts and works to ensure that PFI hospitals are maintained well and provide best value for money.

They also work on major projects with developers where the buildings are leased to us such as at Benton House in Newcastle and at Monkwearmouth Hospital in Sunderland.

Their work can often feel like a game of four-dimensional chess where clinical and office moves often have a knock-on effect in terms of timing and space but this makes it interesting and rewarding as well as challenging.

Tracey had a tour of the site at Monkwearmouth and heard about the redevelopment as well as visiting one of our leased properties. She heard first-hand about the challenges of making sure that valuable spaced is used as best as it possibly can be.
