NTW solutions has always had a wide range of apprenticeships and lots of those apprentices have continued to work with us in permanent roles after their training had finished. We have a number of apprentices with us now in a wide range of roles doing great work to support better care. Our current company Chair began as an apprentice in the 1970s which shows that an apprenticeship can be a route to the top.
This week is National Apprenticeship Week and we are celebrating all of the fantastic apprentices we have had working with us. We take on apprentices in a range of roles across the company from hands on roles in areas such as the estates to more desk based work such as finance. Wherever we can we make sure we provide permanent opportunities for those who have completed their apprenticeship and some of our former apprentices are now core members of our teams.
Apprenticeships are a great way to learn skills while you earn some money and are a great opportunity to start your career, to change into a new or different career, or to upskill in your current career. Our apprentices gain first hand experience of the world of work as studying with a college or training provider at the same time giving people a really rounded experience in your training.
Meet Malcolm Aiston, or current board chair
Malcolm has dedicated his career to the NHS after starting as an apprentice in 1978. As a Chartered Engineer he has been leading facilities and estates services for many years. He led the establishment of the company and the transfer of services and was Managing Director since the company was formed until 2022. He has championed the role of apprentices and is passionate about working for greater equality.
Meet Ethan Musgrove, an Estates Apprentice
In this video Ethan talks about his apprenticeship and what he has learned during his time with NTW solutions so far. He talks about how he applies what he has learned to his job everyday and the pride he takes in maintaining our hospital buildings and sites for the benefit of patients, staff and carers.
Keep an eye out on our careers pages for any upcoming
apprenticeships and congratulations to all our fantastic apprenticeships this
national apprenticeship week.
