Our staff are integral to supporting better care and provide essential services for Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust that help keep the hospitals running and the staff and patients safe and comfortable.

From keeping the wards sparkling clean, keeping the buildings safe and maintained, sorting patient meals, managing the phone lines, fixing mechanical systems and much, much more, our teams are a huge part of keeping hospitals and community spaces running.

A Day in the Life with Switchboard

A central function of the switchboard is to answer calls, and they answer hundreds of thousands of calls a year, with a target of answering them within 15 seconds, which the service almost always meets.
