NTW Solutions delivers new facilities at Northgate Hospital

NTW Solutions Capital Team has delivered the first of many new facilities at Northgate Hospital as part of major redevelopment of the site. Working with partners MGM Construction a new woodwork workshop was handed over to Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW) and has already proved to be a great success with patients.

Both woodwork and a gardening project have been relocated and redesigned, thanks to investment from the CNTW capital programme, managed and delivered by NTW Solutions. The two services now sit alongside each other, making management of both services much easier for the team who run them.

The new workshop space has been created to the specifications of the team who are full of praise for the NTW Solutions Capital Team, who they say delivered above and beyond their expectations. The refurbished building, which was originally a chapel, is bright and welcoming. It’s clear that everything has been well thought-out, from a neat and practical tool-store to extension cords that pull down from the ceiling to avoid trailing wires.

The patients use the workshop to create a range of items, including benches which are placed in garden areas across a range of CNTW sites.

The workshop was officially opened by James Duncan, Chief Executive of CNTW, at an event attended by patients who use the service and unveiled a plaque which was made in the workshop itself.
