Our Joint Individual of the Year Winners
Denise Middleton
Denise has been praised for her vast knowledge. If anyone at the Barton Centre has a query, Denise is the person to ask! She’s the first person anyone sees as they walk through the door, smiling and welcoming. She’ll say she’s just doing her job, but colleagues say Denise doesn’t realise how much of an asset she truly is. Dependable and proactive, Denise has been known to cover porter shifts, support the café, step in during staff shortages and stay late when security is delayed. She frequently volunteers without being asked, putting the needs of the team before her own. Her kindness, flexibility and willingness to help make her truly deserving of recognition.
Elaine Barkley
Elaine’s calm and steady approach means colleagues know they can rely on her. Her work may happen in the background but the impact can be felt everywhere. She has a gift for improving processes and making things work better for everyone. Her development of the electronic Risk Assessment Acknowledgement system has transformed an outdated and time-consuming task into something quicker, clearer and more reliable. Elaine embraces new technology, always learning and testing new ideas. Elaine’s knowledge is invaluable and she’s always willing to share it with others. Always happy to help, nothing is too much trouble for Elaine.
