Welcome to the NTW Solutions Outpatient Pharmacy
NTW Solutions have been responsible for the supply of medicines to Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW) Community Team service users since August 2018. The Outpatient Pharmacy is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). It is conveniently located on the St Nicholas Hospital site benefiting from a skilled, experienced and professional local workforce. The dispensary is staffed by the CNTW Pharmacy Department, including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Assistant Technical Officers. A dedicated NTW Solutions Superintendent Pharmacist oversees the service, in accordance with regulatory and statutory requirements. Our professional standards are adopted directly from CNTW NHS Foundation Trust and continue to be developed amid evolving service demands.
Our priority is to dispense all outpatient prescriptions with standards of high quality, safety and efficiency.
Who uses our Outpatient Pharmacy Services?
Our medicine supply service is provided to CNTW NHS Foundation Trust community teams in synchrony with Clozapine Point of Care Testing (POCT) clinics, and depot administration appointments.
We have an extremely large catchment area allied with all localities across the CNTW footprint. Delivery of medicines involves a wide network of courier links with the pharmacy, enabling secure transport to all designated community locations.
We are unable to dispense NHS prescriptions from Primary Care/GP (FP10)/Veterinary, NHS prescriptions from hospitals intended for dispensing at a retail pharmacy (FP10HP), or hospital prescriptions from other NHS Trusts.
What services do we provide?
- Supply of medicines to Community Team bases across the North East of England and North Cumbria. Supporting planned depot administration appointments, and Clozapine Point of Care Testing
- Automation is utilised with our dispensing robot which produces high-quality sealed Multi-compartment Compliance Aids (MCAs), capable of dispensing more accurately and quickly than traditional methods.
- Resolution of clinical, pharmaceutical, legal or local formulary issues
- Outpatient Prescriptions are all clinically screened and validated to procedure by hospital-based pharmacists, before dispensing and checking phases
- Evidence-based support and advice about medicines. Including access to CNTW Trust Medicines Information (MI) Service
- Experienced staff at hand to support logistical enquiries
- Access to a wide range of medicine wholesale lines by a dedicated procurement team
