Phil Boyle in our Procurement Team is one of the first people in the country to complete a new professional qualification. The course has been launched by NHS England and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) aimed at developing expertise in materials management and logistics.
The certificate is the first stage qualification where people can progress right up to full chartered status should they wish.
NHS England have funded this programme with a view to having more training and career development opportunities for procurement staff more focused on materials management and logistics fields. This is a great example of NHS England supporting national learning initiatives and of NTW Solutions making the most of those opportunities. It’s a huge credit to Phil for undertaking the work and putting in the hours to achieve it.
NTW Solutions provides a materials management service to Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW). The team supports clinical and other services by providing consistent stock levels of whatever resources they need to keep their services running. Materials Management is essentially about making sure that teams have the equipment and resources they need when they need them.
The CILT is the chartered body for professionals working across Logistics, Transport, Supply Chain and Operations Management. It provides resources for professional development, networking, and industry insights. CILT has a global presence with over 30,000 members in more than 30 countries.
