Sustainability Manager

Welcome

We are really glad you are thinking of working with us

Hello I’m Tracey, Managing Director of NTW Solutions

It’s great you are interested in joining us.

As Managing Director of NTW Solutions I am really glad you are thinking of coming to work with us. Our people are at the absolute heart of what we do and our services are based on having great people work for us.

We know from our staff survey that people like working here and people love the friendly and supportive teams we have. We strive to be a great and inclusive place to work and having an inclusive workforce is something I’m passionate about.

Most of our staff work alongside people using NHS services and it can be a challenge at times but that is what makes it rewarding.

We live by our values of being caring and compassionate, respectful, honest and transparent and it shapes everything we do. What we do makes a real difference to people’s lives and our jobs are interesting and varied.

I wish you good luck in the recruitment process.

Tracey

I’m Matthew Lessells, Director of Estates

Our Sustainability Manager is a crucial member of our team

Tackling the climate emergency is a strategic priority for us. We are making progress but there’s so much work to do and we need the right person to help us achieve our ambitions.

Delivering our Green Plan is really important to us and backing for this work comes from the top and we have a track record of delivery to build on. We generate more energy from solar than any other mental health trust in England, and have so many air source heat pumps that on a recent audit they thought we had made a mistake on the filing.

While we are part of the NHS family we are a limited company and you’ll find us agile and responsive and keen to get things done at pace.

Our to do list is long and we’ve got some big projects in the pipeline and if you’d like to be part of our journey then we would love to hear from you.

Matthew

About the role

What does the job involve?

Our Sustainability Manager will help deliver our Green Plan and drive our work tackling the climate emergency.

You will develop, deliver and implement sustainability plans to meet our ambitious goals, alongside meeting statutory obligations in relation to energy, environmental targets and responding to any government and NHS initiatives. This will involve promoting, leading and raising awareness on activities, campaigns, or projects that help deliver our plans.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team the role holder will cover a broad range of sustainability related areas including waste, travel, energy, biodiversity, adaptation, procurement & supply chain, and sustainable models of care. You will plan, develop and monitor a programme of activity to ensure NTW Solutions and our shareholder CNTW and its stakeholders meets the requirements of Net Zero Carbon Emissions, The Climate Change Act 2008, and our own Green Plan.

A crucial element of the role will be to assist in exploring the feasibility of new energy saving or Net Zero Carbon schemes, including the creation and submission of bids via formal channels, such as NHSI/E, Salix, the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme and other relevant funding sources.

Who are NTW Solutions?

We provide a wide range of important services to our partners, from estates and facilities operations to business support services. We were established in 2017 by Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust and our profits contribute to supporting care in the NHS.

As a limited company we have built a commercial ethos onto our NHS values and now provide our services to other NHS organisations and beyond. We are agile and able to respond to opportunities where the NHS does not have the flexibilities to do so. We are proud of the quality of the services we offer and the part we play in supporting better care.

We are here to make a difference and have a strong social purpose. We support charity work and are driving plans to become carbon net zero and to tackle discrimination and champion equality.

We have a solid track record of service delivery and have grown the range and scope of services we offer since we were established. We have a strong team of people and are confident we can continue to add value and make a difference into the future.
